With players away and a few injuries we again fielded a very different team to the previous week, making it difficult to come up with good defensive plays when we really needed to. To the guys credit we were ready to play from the first pitch and we got some lucky breaks to be in the game early but again we made a couple of errors in the field and gave the opposition easy at bats to give up six runs in the 3rd and another four in the 5th dig.
We were unable to put enough pressure on them at bat with only 5 scattered hits, 2 walks and 7 strikeouts but the signs were better than the scoreline showed.
Thanks to Dave for coming in to catch the game and to Shane for taking over when Dave came into pitch.
Next week will be tough against Balcatta. We need to concentrate on teamwork and offering support to each other for the rest of the season. If we do that who knows what can happen. |
